Meat Case Study partners FEBEV, AVEC and Fenavian in the spotlight!

The Meat Case study includes collaborations between FEBEV partners : Michael Gore and Heyvaert Anne, AVEC members like Nadia Khaldoune, Paul-Henri Lava, Federica Chiarella, Birthe Steenberg, and Corentin Daubross, along with Fenavian representatives Anneleen Vandewynckel. They convened on February 29, 2024, at the AVEC office in Brussels. As all partners are located in Brussels, the purpose was to gather, introduce themselves, and share insights on the similarities and differences across the three sub-sectors.

This initial meeting set the stage for a cooperative approach within the BREADCRUMB project. Discussions covered topics such as defining “food waste” in the meat sector, distinguishing between food waste and product downgrading, the MS framework in beef, processed meat, and poultry sub-sectors, as well as collaboration on survey design and data collection. Also plans were arranged for a follow-up online meeting with coordinator ILVO on April 26, 2024.
